A fixture in the Asheville folk scene for nearly a decade, Christa now lives in the High Country of North Carolina, just outside of Boone. She plays guitar and sings in Classic Highway, a classic rock cover band, and sings and plays her originals in a duo called Crossnore Creek. She and her bands play at wineries, breweries, private gigs and festivals all around the High Country in Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Boone, West Jefferson, Spruce Pine, Newland, and Seven Devils. Her sound has been likened to Fiona Apple, Joni Mitchell, and Bonnie Raitt. She's been playing music since she could sit up right, and has been writing and performing solo and in bands for the past 15 years.
